Overview
The ESP32-H2 Super Mini is a very small board built around Espressif’s ESP32-H2, a chip made for low-power mesh networks. Its IEEE 802.15.4 radio runs Zigbee and Thread, the networks behind most battery-powered smart-home sensors, and it also has Bluetooth 5 LE.
That makes it a good fit for Zigbee end devices, Thread and Matter-over-Thread nodes, and BLE sensors. It does not have Wi-Fi: it joins a Zigbee coordinator or a Thread border router, and pairs with phones over Bluetooth. If your project needs Wi-Fi as well, choose the ESP32-C6 Super Mini.
Key Features
- ESP32-H2: 32-bit RISC-V, up to 96 MHz
- IEEE 802.15.4 radio for Zigbee 3.0 and Thread
- Bluetooth 5 LE
- USB-C connected to the chip’s USB Serial/JTAG: no separate converter chip
- BOOT and RESET buttons, on-board RGB LED
- B+ and B- battery pads on the back
- Castellated pads: solder onto a PCB or use the pin headers

What’s in the Box
- 1 x ESP32-H2 Super Mini board
- 2 x pin headers (not soldered)
Please Note
- The ESP32-H2 has no Wi-Fi. To reach a network it needs a Zigbee coordinator or a Thread border router.
- The GPIO pins work at 3.3 V and are not 5 V tolerant.
- The pin headers are supplied loose and need soldering.
- If the board is not detected over USB, hold BOOT, press and release RESET, then release BOOT to enter download mode.
